Catacombs, Versailles, and Fernanda's visit!

The Catacombs definitely live up to the hype! The bones from 6 million skeletons are pretty creepy, though I think the endless spiral staircase to get down freaked me out the most. But we made it down (and back up) in one piece!





On Thursday night, Fernanda came to Paris to visit! Friday (after I went to class) we wandered around St. Germain, then went to Galleries Lafayette. Of course we visited every floor! That night we had dinner with Nikki near Pigalle, then got some sleep before our trip to Versailles!





On Saturday, we met Nikki, Becca, and Joe at Gare d'Austerlitz to go to Versailles. We saw an exhibition on Louis XIV (including the three famous portraits of him and the Bernini bust), and then wandered through the other galleries. The Hall of Mirrors is SO much more impressive now that it is clean! We came back to Paris, took a nap, then went out to have dinner. Léon de Bruxelles may be a chain, but the mussels are so good! After dinner, we met Nikki, Lily, Katie, Becca, Joe, and Juan at Footsie, a bar named after the London Stock Exchange (FTSE). Essentially, drink prices change depending on how popular they are. The music was great, and it was so fun to hang out and dance!

Today, Fernanda and I wandered around the Marais, then went to Notre Dame and Ile St. Louis before she got on a train to go back to Marseille. Definitely a crazy weekend!
